Slazenger 2nd's claimed a draw in their keenly- contested encounter with Leeds 2nd's. On a hot, sticky day, Slazenger were fortunate to be just 1-0 down at the break, but several substitutions were made and the score was levelled in the early stages of the second half. Second-half consolidation offers Slazenger hope of league success Slazenger were well up for this hard game against a Leeds team two divisions higher than themselves - but class told. It was clear after the first five minutes that Slazenger were going to have a lot of running to do, with midfielders Nick Webb and Will Buckley chasing the ball continually. Slazenger got off to a great start, with their enterprising play too much for Bradford. Slaz were wheezing the ball rounf the back of the Bradford defence continually and creating quick chances up the wing from the off and they went into an early 8th minute lead when Alec Colston netted. In a ding-dong match, Slaz came out victors with a cleverly deflected goal from Gavin Kaye in the last few minutes. There never more than one goal in it with Slaz opening the scoring with a short corner strike from skipper Geoff Birkett.
