Slazengers mens 2nd team put in a strong performance on Saturday running out comfortable 8-2 winners against Lindum Mens 4's. Slazengers started strongly and took the lead when quick thinking by Matt Stacey resulted in him taking a quick free hit to himself, driving into the circle and firing home. Lindum weren't happy with the original free hit and were soon doubly disappointed as Stacey grabbed his second finishing a good team move. Simon Randall making his first appearance of the season got … [Read more...] about Report: 17-10-2015 – Mens 2nd’s (8) vs. (2) Lindum 5th’s

Report: 05-03-2005 – Mens 2nd’s (1) vs (1) Doncaster 4ths
Slazenger’s seconds took a hard fought point off an experienced Doncaster side but will be disappointed not to take all three. The Horbury side started brightly and used their pace to attack Doncaster down both flanks creating a number of chances only to be thwarted by the visiting keeper. As the half went on, Doncaster began to play the physical game that was expected of them, continually breaking Slazenger’s attacks down by any means necessary. It was just before the break however when the … [Read more...] about Report: 05-03-2005 – Mens 2nd’s (1) vs (1) Doncaster 4ths
Report: 19-02-2005 – Mens 2nd’s (4) vs (0) Ben Rhydding 3rd’s
Slazenger’s seconds followed on from their great result last week with another solid victory against highly placed Ben Rhydding thirds. Slazenger's have a new found confidence and this showed straight from the off, the whole team linking up well to create a number of chances with Neil Croucher at the centre of much of the play. The pressure paid off mid way through the half with Tim Carr getting a subtle touch past the keeper to give Slazenger's the lead. After a half time reshuffle, … [Read more...] about Report: 19-02-2005 – Mens 2nd’s (4) vs (0) Ben Rhydding 3rd’s
Report: 12-02-2005 – Mens 2nd’s (6) vs (2) Sheffield Hallam 3rd’s
Slazenger’s seconds produced the performance of the season to beat previously undefeated and runaway leaders Sheffield Hallam thirds by 6 goals to 2. Slazenger’s were boosted by the return of a number of players and this showed early on, with the home side getting straight into the groove, Rich Hutchins giving Slazenger’s an early lead with a great finish. A well-worked short corner doubled the lead with Ed Richardson finishing well with only 15 minutes on the clock. This spurred Hallam into … [Read more...] about Report: 12-02-2005 – Mens 2nd’s (6) vs (2) Sheffield Hallam 3rd’s
Report: 05-02-2005 – Mens 2nd’s (2) vs. (4) Halifax 2nd’s
A game in which Slazenger were hoping to take maximum points never materialised due to sloppy passing and ill discipline. Slazenger conceded after 18 minutes following their own inability to pass the ball around the midfield, but the turning point came on the half hour when Tom Penistone in the Slaz’ goal was sin-binned for ten minutes for fighting with the opposition. Young Lee Secker kitted up and went in goal but was unable to keep out two well worked short corner routines to leave the … [Read more...] about Report: 05-02-2005 – Mens 2nd’s (2) vs. (4) Halifax 2nd’s
