Slazenger's Boys U10's had a successful Sunday. The "A" team were promoted into the top Division 1, the first time in several years. The "B" team, made mostly of younger players (some only 6 years old!) had a great competition, but struggled to score! Slazenger A vs. Ben Rhydding The tournament kicked off with the first draw against Ben Rhydding - a team who have in the past offered tough competition to Slazenger. Initial play was mainly in the Slazenger half, but quick passing and an open … [Read more...] about Report: 13-10-2013 – Boys U10’s Tournament

Report: 14-10-2012 – Boys U10’s Promoted from First Tournament
A new season and some new faces but still a side with an average age of 8 took part in the first tournament of the year starting in Division C against some older and more experienced teams. We were due to be third on but due to Driffield waiting for players we went on first and got into our game plan straight away thanks to some pre game warm up and training by Matthew Stacey and Rowan Tejura who were also our Umpires for the day. Many thanks to Mike Gunning for looking after the boys on that team and it was great to see that … [Read more...] about Report: 11-03-2012 – Boys U10’s Tournament
Report: 04-03-2012 – Boys U14’s Tournament at Harrogate
In my match report after our last trip to Harrogate in December, I noted that our next tournament was just 2 weeks away. How wrong could I be? With three successive cancelled tournaments, Slazenger travelled to Harrogate 3 months later with 16 boys including two boys on their first tournament; Elliot Golding & Lee Stringer. The only player missing was Jack Garside who was taken ill the day before. Prior to the tournament, we had arranged to loan players to Huddersfield and Bridlington. … [Read more...] about Report: 04-03-2012 – Boys U14’s Tournament at Harrogate
