Slazenger 2nds did something they didn’t do for most of last season – start playing from the first whistle – as they overcame Lincoln 4-3.
Midway through the first half, Slaz were cruising at 3-0 up, courtesy of striked from Swinden (2) and Tuddenham, only for Lincoln to pull one back.
Disaster struck two minutes into the second half when keeper Bagshaw pulled his groin while attempting to save an effort which made it 3-2.
Tuddenham then bagged his second to give Slaz breathing space at 4-2 up and they missed a chance to increase their tally when a penalty stroke was saved.
A short corner for Lincoln was later converted to end an epic encounter with Slaz holding on.
