On Sunday, Slazenger went into their encounter with Gainsborough Roses knowing a win would put them top of the heap over the Christmas break. And they did exactly that, and in some style, romping to a 11-2 victory. The game was never in doubt with Mark Butel bagging another four goals to take his tally to 16 for the season, Jonathan Wiper netting twice along with Alex Gilston and Simon Chamberlain, Nick Webb and man of the match Mike Shaw, all scoring one apiece. Report: 16-12-2000 – Men’s 1st’s (2) vs. (0) Hull
Slazenger men's first XI went top of the Yorkshire League Division 1 table with two wins at the weekend. On Saturday, the side overcame tricky conditions to defeat hosts Hull 2-0. It took a touch of magic to break the deadlock, Paul Wiper dancing through several players and riding a crude tackle before firing in an unstoppable shot. The goal however, sparked York into life … [Read more...] about Report: 02-12-2000 – Mens 3rd’s (1) vs (1) City of York 5th’s
Report: 02-12-2000 – Mens 2nd’s (2) vs (1) Grimsby
Slazenger seconds enjoyed a more comfortable victory over Grimsby than the 2-1 scoreline suggests. They had the majority of the possession but failed to use the full width of the pitch.
