On Sunday, Slazenger went into their encounter with Gainsborough Roses knowing a win would put them top of the heap over the Christmas break.
And they did exactly that, and in some style, romping to a 11-2 victory.
The game was never in doubt with Mark Butel bagging another four goals to take his tally to 16 for the season, Jonathan Wiper netting twice along with Alex Gilston and Simon Chamberlain, Nick Webb and man of the match Mike Shaw, all scoring one apiece.
Slazenger, who are looking for their third promotion in four seasons, also have a game in hand on their closest rivals.
Slazenger entertain Bradford in a friendly on Saturday and take on Wakefield on December 30th.
