In a highly entertaining match between two evenly matched sides, Slazenger thirds and visitors City of York 5th’s, a 1-1 draw was probably the fairest result.
Slazenger moved the ball around nicely in the first half against York and had the best chance of the game, but failed to make it count.
It took a touch of magic to break the deadlock, Paul Wiper dancing through several players and riding a crude tackle before firing in an unstoppable shot.
The goal however, sparked York into life and Thomas Penistone was called upon to make some top notch saves.
York’s pressure eventually paid off with a scrambled goal late on.
