Slazenger's top of the table clash against Garforth proved to be just as difficult as anticipated. Despite shading the first 15 minutes of the match Slazengers were unable to capitalise on their superiority and this allowed the opposition to get back into the game. An early evening match for the Slazenger 5ths saw the floodlights light up the Horbury sky as they battled against Doncaster. The back four of Dave Smith, Danny Croxall, Matthew Chilton and Adam Drake held the line well protecting Harry Buttery in goal. Slazengers were prepared in full for this weeks derby game against local rivals Huddersfield dragons. Huddersfield had a lucky start and was awarded a penalty flick in the first 10 minutes, later in the first half they scored another goal as a result of a short corner. Slazenger's 3rds took on Colne Valley at their new home Mirfield Free Grammer School and it was set to be an interesting battle.
