Slazengers were prepared in full for this weeks derby game against local rivals Huddersfield dragons. Huddersfield had a lucky start and was awarded a penalty flick in the first 10 minutes, later in the first half they scored another goal as a result of a short corner.
However, Huddersfield could not match Slazengers in outfield play, and slazengers had dominated most of the game, we also had a goal disallowed. Slazengers continued to play our own game, driving strong on both sides of the pitch with Hobbsie, Andrea and Katie Brown dominating in the midfield. But it was the Slazengers inners that turned the game round for Slazengers this week, with a sensational goal from man of the match katie firth, who nearly put a hole in the back netting with her powerful strike at the top of the d.
Then later on in the second half, Mandy smith put one of her renowned arial ball passes into the path of Claire mills, who took the ball into the d and sent the ball into the back of the net to make the game 2 2.
In the last stages of the game Slazengers got a short corner, Huddersfield defender stopped the ball on the line with their foot, but was missed by the umpire, so the game ended a draw.
