Slazengers 1st's travelled away to Airedale and after a strong start were unfortunate to lose 3-2. The visitors started well, with good attacking intent, but were caught on the break, going 3 goals down. Slazengers fought their way back into the game, scoring 2 goals in quick succession from Isaac fisher and Richard Tuddenham. Slazengers mens 2nd team suffered their 2nd defeat of the season going down 1-0 to a well drilled York Uni outfit. Straight from the off, York set a high press and put Slazengers defence under pressure however the defence held out well and in truth, James Cowden in the Slazengers goal was rarely troubled. Sporting their new away kit (sponsored by C.J. Metal Recycling), Slaz played local rivals Wakefield away at College Grove. The visitors got off to a good start, playing good passing hockey and controlling the pitch. By half time, Slaz where 2-0 up with well worked goals from Geoff Birkett and Matt Banks. Slazengers started out very positive with excellent distribution from Frankie Tyrell and Sarah Hobbs but were unable to connect with the back board. Hull continued to turn up the heat and scored 2 goals from a short corner and rigorous game play. With some major changes to the team this week Slazengers battled hard, held their shape and played as a team. Unfortunately Leeds scored 2 goals from short corners in the first half. Slazengers pulled back 2 goals from Naomi Horsley early in the second half but Leeds scored another 2 goals from short corners in the second half and were awarded a dodgy open play goal.
