Wakefield Ladies were unable to build on their first win of the season. Facing a Slazenger's team who they had previously beaten 3-0 in a preseason game the result was not to be repeated. From the start, Slazenger dominated the game with their effective midfield play causing Wakefield endless problems and within the first five minutes the confident visitors opened the scoring with a decisive strike past Sarah Wood in goal. From the restart, Wakefield remained positive, but desipte the … [Read more...] about Report: 22-11-2003 – Ladies 1st’s (4) vs (1) Wakfield 1st’s

Report: 22-11-2003 – Mens 1st’s (3) vs (3) Sunderland
Slazenger escaped with a point after this bruising North Decision 3 East encounter. Slazenger were quickly out of the traps and Sunderland had no answer to their quick passing movements. The Horbury side were rewarded with two goals in open play in the first 10 minutes from Mark Swinden and Alex Gilson. However, Slazenger took their foot of the gas with too many players making individual runs rather than passing their way around the Sunderland midfield. This allowed Sunderland to sieve the … [Read more...] about Report: 22-11-2003 – Mens 1st’s (3) vs (3) Sunderland
Report: 15-11-2013 – Mens 1st’s (4) vs (7) Gateshead 1st’s

Slazenger started strongly and took a well-deserved lead with Tim Carr finishing off a well-worked move. Slazenger continued to control the game and doubled their lead with James Walker turning in a well placed Jonny White cross. A third came just before the break with Rich Hutchinson converting a penalty flick. The second half started as … [Read more...] about Report: 15-11-2003 – Mens 2nd’s (5) vs (3) Brigg 2nd’s
Report: 09-11-2013 – Mens 1st’s (4) vs (7) Stockton 1st’s
Slazenger went out in the first round of the Hockey Association Trophy on penalties, but could hold their heads up high after a fantastic comeback on Sunday. With several key players absent owing to injury, Slazenger struggled to contain Stockton's lively forward line in the first half and soon found themselves 3-0 down. By the start of the second half, Slazenger had come to terms with a difficult bumpy pitch and pulled a goal back through Richard Whawell from a penalty corner. However, … [Read more...] about Report: 09-11-2013 – Mens 1st’s (4) vs (7) Stockton 1st’s
