Sporting their new away kit (sponsored by C.J. Metal Recycling), Slaz played local rivals Wakefield away at College Grove. The visitors got off to a good start, playing good passing hockey and controlling the pitch. By half time, Slaz where 2-0 up with well worked goals from Geoff Birkett and Matt Banks.
Wakefield fought their way back into the game, earning a well deserved goal. However this was enough to spurr Slaz into a resurgent performance; Jake Barras battling hard up front, ultimately being rewarded by a final goal.
Anwar Khaili took man of the match honours for hard work throughout the game.
