An outstanding performance from Slazenger third's front line gained them a convincing win over York. Man of the match Richard Whawell led the way with two superb scoring strikes. Whawell struck in the opening minutes, finishing a slinking run from inside his own half with a shot that left the goalkeeper no chance. Ten-man Slazenger thirds worked their socks off to come back from behind three times and secure a 3-3 Yorkshire League 6 draw with hosts Brigg thirds. It was a high tempo encounter but under-staffed Slazenger never faltered in their commitment.
