Kingston-Upon-Hull

Report: 08-02-2014 – Mens 2nd’s (3) vs. (4) Kingston-Upon-Hull 3rd’s

February 8, 2014 by Slazenger HC

After recording victories over the top two teams in the league in the previous weeks, Slazengers mens 2nd team were brought back down to earth by a strong Hull side, eventually losing 4-3. Hull were quick out of the blocks and their midfield began controlling things, creating chances for the Hull side. Some smart defending and good saves by keeper Ralph Toon kept the scoreline level. It was Slazengers who took the lead when Robin Brearton burst into the box and unleashed a ferocious shot into … [Read more...] about Report: 08-02-2014 – Mens 2nd’s (3) vs. (4) Kingston-Upon-Hull 3rd’s

Report: 08-02-2014 – Mens 3rd’s (5) vs. (0) Kingston-Upon-Hull 4th’s

Slaz 3's travelled out to Kingston-Upon-Hulls ground looking to build on their recent run of form, and surprise goal scoring tallisman Simon Taylor looking for his 3rd in as many games (after a run of 10+ years without). The team started brightly, winning the toss and playing with the wind at their backs for the first half. The team worked well, controlling the speed of play and retaining possession to the frustration of the opposition. However the Hull defence made it hard work for Slaz to … [Read more...] about Report: 08-02-2014 – Mens 3rd’s (5) vs. (0) Kingston-Upon-Hull 4th’s

Report: 07-12-2013 – Mens 1st’s (2) vs. (3) Kingston Upon Hull 1st’s

December 7, 2013 by Slazenger HC

Slaz were slipping up early on but kept in the game and created lots of chances in the first half, but due to misfortune and some great saves Kingston were in the lead at half time. Slaz failed to challenge the ball when not in possession and Kingston made their few chances count. Slaz did hold the ball well and had most of the possession for the entire game and in the second half were in the opposition half, but always looked short of scoring. Slaz failed to have the spark they have had … [Read more...] about Report: 07-12-2013 – Mens 1st’s (2) vs. (3) Kingston Upon Hull 1st’s

Yvonne Horner Shield Semi Finals An away game at Hull in the last thing you want at 3pm on a cold Sunday afternoon but Slazenger Ladies 2s showed their dedication to the cause and away we went on the bus of fun. The game started well with a quick goal and few more followed. At half time the score was 4-1 to Slazengers. The second half was slower to take momentum and before we knew it the score was 4 all. A wake up call for Slazengers and with the prospect of flicks Slazengers pushed … [Read more...] about Report: 10-11-2013 – Ladies 2nd’s (5) vs. (4) Kingston-Upon-Hull 3rd’s

Report: 23-02-2013 – Mens 5th’s (2) vs. (5) Kingston Upon Hull 5th’s

March 5, 2013 by Slazenger HC

Slazenger Men's 5's faced a tough task in their latest development fixture against Kingston Upon Hull when the opposition turned up with only 11 players but 6 of them were adults. That said, the first half saw an encouraging display from the youngsters against a physically stronger team. Matthew Chilton and Elliot Golding were particularly energetic, with Harry Gunning authoritative in midfield. It was good to see the home team go into the half time break 2-1 up after strikes from centre … [Read more...] about Report: 23-02-2013 – Mens 5th’s (2) vs. (5) Kingston Upon Hull 5th’s
