Slazenger Starlets Selected for Yorkshire
SLAZENGER Hockey Club is celebrating after four of its young players were picked for the West Yorkshire Youth Hockey teams. The quartet are Lee Secker (U16), Gareth Ventom (U14), Jermane Cockerill and Christopher Wood (U13s) and they were picked after attending four weeks of development training with 30 other players from each age group, with 16 eventually making the cut. Slazenger secured safety from relegation with this comfortable derby victory over their College Grove rivals. For the first time since the mid-season break, the Horbury side were able to select a team from a full strength squad with the welcome return of James Swinden and Will Buckley from long term hand injuries.
