Slazenger U10 Girls teams’ season got off to a steady start against York with a 0-0 draw; a fair result for a side with several new players including Emily Barnett, Catreena Ferguson and Elinor Jackson.
In the next match, they were on the wrong end of a 4-0 defeat to an experienced Wakefield side. Slaz’ cause was not helped by the loss of defender Hannah Barnett who had to leave the field with a hand injury.
Their third match against Leeds also finished 0-0 but there were signs the team is coming together with Isaac Fisher providing a number of surging runs from midfield and linked well with Chloe Bates in attack.
Against York B, Slazenger dominated for most of the match bur conceded a soft goal and it was left to Heather Bates to provide the equaliser.
The final match against Driffield also ended goalless.
