A disappointing day for the Slazenger U16 Boys, which began with high hopes and some initial positive play. Due to Ben Rhydding not being able to raise a team, the boys were asked to play four matches on the trot at Pocklington, totalling 100 minutes hockey. Slaz travelled away to Lincoln Roses 2nd team and after a hard fought game, came away with a fourth successive win, keeping them top of the table for another week. Slaz started out sluggish and paid the price for an unusual defensive error at the back. Lincoln capitalised on the effect and slotted in a second within in 10 min from the start. Slaz Ladies 1sts travelled all the way to Alnwick in their first game against the North East team. As a team which had finished high in the league last season, the Horbury side knew they would be playing a tough match, but came out of it with the first win of the season. Slazenger 3rd's went into their confrontation with Garforth 1st's looking for a win, though could only manage a draw. The game started briskley with some fast flowing hockey.
