Slaz travelled away to Lincoln Roses 2nd team and after a hard fought game, came away with a fourth successive win, keeping them top of the table for another week. Slaz started out sluggish and paid the price for an unusual defensive error at the back. Lincoln capitalised on the effect and slotted in a second within in 10 min from the start.
Slaz woke up and hard work from midfielders Jonny White, Mark Swindon and Simon Chamberlain pulled the team together, feeding Richard Tuddenham the ball to fire one in on the break. From that point on slaz had control of the game, and slowly worked the ball around Lincoln, securing the second goal and putting both teams level going into the break.
In the second half Jack Kitchen fired balls down the line for Daniel Perry to collect and drive at Lincoln. A solo effort from Paul Wiper secured the third goal, putting Slaz ahead. Setting off from the halfway line, he weaved in and out of 5 players, breaking into the “D” and keeping balance with the aid of his stick to then rocket one past an unprepared keeper.
Lincoln score a third, but Slaz matched this with a fourth. A good all round performance from Adam Drake earned him man of the match with some key goal line saves, and hard work from keeper James Walker kept Lincoln at bay to secure the win.
