The latest tournament for the Slazenger U16 boys was held at Harrogate on 1st December. Once again, Slazenger were competing in the 1st division. With a shortage of keepers, Dan Perry donned the pads for the first time ever, to keep for the Mens 4's. Slaz maintained some strong pressure from the start, but were unable to capitalise on some strong midfield control. Some great debutante performances but the Gunning brothers nab a goal each in a well matched contest. On a bright sunny September Saturday Slazenger’s development team travelled to Huntingdon School to play York. The team was a scratch team with Joshua Swallow and Nick Caldersley making their debut to senior hockey. Another good win at home for the 4th team James Walker got the first in a good end to end game with Chris Hopkinson getting the second from a short corner. Slaz started the new year with a good 4-1 victory away at York. The team were caught on the break; against the run of play, and were punished - going 1-0 down early on. However, the team fought back with a goal from John Toon levelling the score at half time. In the second half, Slaz pressed on, with a brace from Darren Buttery and one from James Walker.
