Slaz started the new year with a good 4-1 victory away at York. The team were caught on the break; against the run of play, and were punished – going 1-0 down early on. However, the team fought back with a goal from John Toon levelling the score at half time.
In the second half, Slaz pressed on, with a brace from Darren Buttery and one from James Walker.
Notable performances came from Aiden Hopkinson and James Higgins in midfield, but goalkeeper and Captain Giles “Fodder” Field took man of the match for some great saves.
