After a succesful 'Back to Hockey' campaign over the summer Slazenger's 4th ladies team travelled to Huddersfield with 5 of their new players. It was a great team effort the first half and Slazenger were unlucky to conceed a goal. In the second half both Claudia Barber and Megan Bird played some excellent hockey but fatigue set in and the young Dragons team were able to score twice more. Slazenger Mens 1st's started the 2014 season with a win over a very strong Lincoln side. The 1st goal came in the 10th minute with a well worked well set piece which Isaac fisher finished under pressure. After 2 promotions in 2 seasons, Slazengers Mens second team always knew they were going to be in for a tough season but in the end, will be disappointed to come away from their opening league fixture with nothing having gone down 3-2 away at York. Slazenger Mens 3rd's returned to League action in a new league for the third time in 3 seasons. With a place in division 4 and host of new players in the squad, the team were looking to start the season on the front foot. The game started well, though the team appeared rusty, with several passes going astray. As the team got into the game, the flow improved and Slazenger controlled much of the passing.
