With a weakened side, missing several key players, the team pressed on looking for a win to secure their position at the top of the table. Slazenger Men's 5's took on local rivals Wakefield in a friendly and after a tight, evenly contested 1st half no one would have been able to accurately guess the final score at the half-time interval, when the match was tied at 0-0. Slazenger's Mens Veterans team played their first home game of the season against Huddersfield Vets on Sunday. Both teams made a sluggish start to the game, probably due to the wintery conditions. City of York stood with Slaz around the circle to hold a minute silence for Bob France who will be missed by all.
