Slazenger surrendered a two goal lead and were left hanging on for a point in this North East Division 2 contest. They started brightly against the home side and it was Richard Whawell who finished off a Keith Whittle cross to open the scoring. The first team notched up yet another win in their inaugual season in North Eastern Division 2. The Horbury side now lies in third place after holding off a late surge from Gateshead. Slazenger started slowly but they took the lead after man of the match James Swinden and Keith Whittle combined to set up Simon Chamberlain who cunningly pushed the ball past the keeper.
