The story of Slazenger’s seconds season continued as they once again failed to capitalise on some good hockey to go down one nil at home to Brigg seconds. Slazenger seconds poor start to the season continued after they suffered a disappointing 3-1 defeat away to Ben Rhydding III in a game that they could have so easily won. Slazenger seconds produced a much improved performance to take a point off a strong Bankers side and can consider themselves unlucky not to take all three. The game started with bankers in the supremacy creating a number of chances, with keeper Lee Secker keeping slaz in it. Slazenger prepared for their upcoming league campaign with a hard fought match against higher ranked opponents Metrostars and can consider themselves unlucky to lose. Report: 07-02-2004 – Mens 2nd’s (2) vs (6) Halifax 2nd’s
Slazenger 2nd's dissapointing run continued with their fourth defeat in five losing 6-2 away to Halifax. The Horbury team had to play the entire game with 10 men after suffeing a number of injuries the previous week. And it was the visitors who took a deserved lead with Nick Webb finishing off a nice move. Using their extra man it came as no suprise when Halifax equalised before half time.
