Slazenger's Boys U10's had a successful Sunday. The "A" team were promoted into the top Division 1, the first time in several years. The "B" team, made mostly of younger players (some only 6 years old!) had a great competition, but struggled to score! Slaz were keen to carry on from their previous weeks high spirits and set out to take 3 points from Huddersfield. Slaz moved the ball around well from the back to the front but struggled to get into the Huddersfield D due to strong defending. Slazenger's Mens Veterans team played their first home game of the season against Huddersfield Vets on Sunday. Both teams made a sluggish start to the game, probably due to the wintery conditions. Slazengers were prepared in full for this weeks derby game against local rivals Huddersfield dragons. Huddersfield had a lucky start and was awarded a penalty flick in the first 10 minutes, later in the first half they scored another goal as a result of a short corner. Report: 14-10-2012 – Boys U10’s Promoted from First Tournament
A new season and some new faces but still a side with an average age of 8 took part in the first tournament of the year starting in Division C against some older and more experienced teams.
