Slazenger Ladies 1st XI showed their true metal on Saturday, putting bottom of the league Harrogate, to the sword with an impressive 7 - 0 win. Horbury outfit in win hat-trick SLAZENGER U16 Girls netted 17 goals and conceeded none as they swept to three wins at the Yorkshire League Hockey tournament played at Harrogate. Jes Rudge scored the only goal in the openeing game, opening their account with a 1-0 win over Thirsk. Slazengers mens first team were looking to bounce back after a difficult start to the season against a Harrogate side who were also looking for their first win. Slazenger men’s 1, returned to winning ways with a well deserved 7-4 victory away at Harrogate in a game that was a mix between great hockey and heavy challenges. Slazenger played some good passing hockey and showed signs they were starting to gel as they competed in their third tournament of the season in Harrogate. Despite losing the opening game 3-0 against Rotherham, Slaz hit back with a battling 1-1 draw against Thirsk , thanks to a Jake Barras goal.
