Slazenger's ladies 3rds took on Harrogate at slazenger's. With both teams equal on points, the prospect of the game was mouthwatering, and it didn't disappoint. The game was end to end with Slazenger's putting the ball into the D but failing to convert. The game got off to a good tempo from both teams moving the ball around very well and creating good attacking chances early on. Both defences held off the final chances well. Adam Drake had a good solid game in defence. Harrogate took the lead in the first half with a successful short corner routine that found the side netting. Slazenger Ladies 2nd's travelled away to Harrogate 4th's for their first game of the season, but unfortunately were overturned with a 2-1 loss. The first half was a tough experience for the newly promoted side, as Harrogate pressed the visitors. The home side scored 2 goals against a Slaz team who struggled to find a footing. Report: 04-03-2012 – Boys U14’s Tournament at Harrogate
In my match report after our last trip to Harrogate in December, I noted that our next tournament was just 2 weeks away. How wrong could I be? With three successive cancelled tournaments, Slazenger travelled to Harrogate 3 months later with 16 boys including two boys on their first tournament; Elliot Golding & Lee Stringer. The only player missing was Jack Garside who was taken ill the day before.
