With a better start to the game Slazengers got a reasonably quick goal. But before half time both teams had scored leaving it 2-1 at held time. The latest tournament for the Slazenger U16 boys was held at Harrogate on 1st December. Once again, Slazenger were competing in the 1st division. Slazenger 0 - 2 City of York The opening game was against main rivals City of York. Slaz had a different side out that struggled to get its positioning sorted, but battled for possession and played some good hockey getting the ball quickly moving around. It wasn’t until midway through the first half that midfielder Will Buckley opened the scoring with a drive into the D and taking a reverse stick shot into the far corner of the goal. Slazengers mens second team took the spoils in the local derby with a hard fought 5-4 victory over local rivals Wakefield. It was Wakefield who started the brightest but Slazengers defended well and took the lead when right back Rowan Tejura broke into the 'd' and fired under the Wakefield keeper. Slazenger men's 3rd's travelled away to Doncaster for the 5pm game under the lights, coming away with a hard fought 3-1 result. The game started smartly, with Slaz playing some good passing hockey and controlling the field. Doncaster had some solid players in midfield and looked to break down the Slaz attack when they pressed.
