Slazengers mens 2nd team suffered their 2nd defeat of the season going down 1-0 to a well drilled York Uni outfit. Sporting their new away kit (sponsored by C.J. Metal Recycling), Slaz played local rivals Wakefield away at College Grove. Slazengers started out very positive with excellent distribution from Frankie Tyrell and Sarah Hobbs but were unable to connect with the back board. Hull continued to turn up the heat and scored 2 goals from a short corner and rigorous game play. With some major changes to the team this week Slazengers battled hard, held their shape and played as a team. Unfortunately Leeds scored 2 goals from short corners in the first half. Slazengers pulled back 2 goals from Naomi Horsley early in the second half but Leeds scored another 2 goals from short corners in the second half and were awarded a dodgy open play goal. Slazengers ladies thirds celebrated a comfortable victory as they recorded their first win of the season against Doncaster Independent who had dropped a league this season.
