SLAZ FIGHT BACK TO SECURE PROMOTION Slazenger’s U12 entered their last tournament after a mixed season that has seen them move onto the C pitch of the Yorkshire league. Slaz mens development squad showed how far they have come this season with a fantastic display of hockey in their win over Huddersfield rivals. Captain and keeper Ralph toon took charge, and kept a clean sheet, while up font Isaac Fisher and Rowan Tejura fought admirably in midfield. Slaz went away to title chase rotherham, ready to secure vital points,but never really got going. The match was scrappy from the start, and a poor astroturf surface slowed the ball down. This worked against Slaz's quick passing game, and the ball became stuck in midfield. Slazengers men’s second team hosted league leaders Chapeltown 3s, in the end losing 4-1. Although the result shows why Chapleltown are top of the league, it was a match of two halves. In the first half Slazengers were Chapeltown’s equal creating as many if not more chances than the visitors and both teams could have taken the lead but going into half time the score was 0-0.
