Slazenger 2nd’s stopped the rot after two defeats in the previous three weeks with a 5-2 Yorkshire League division 3 victory over Huddersfield 2nds.
The game began at a frantic pace with Slazenger dominating all the play and it took only five minutes for Ben Graham to give them the lead following good work from Laurence Thornton and Tim Carr.
Slaz’ dominance continued and were soon three up through Carr and Rich Hutchins before Huddersfield broke away to pull a goal back.
Slazengers quickly reasserted themselves and restored their three-goal lead before the break with Hutchinson doubling his tally with a neat finish.
The second half was a closer affair, with Slaz’ taking their foot off the gas after going all the hard work allowing the visitors a second goal before rounding the match off with Carr grabbing his second.
This was a controlled Slazenger’s performance with good play in every position, something which puts them in good stead for next weeks visit to Sheffield Bankers.
