The Ladies 3rds had an unlucky draw against a physically tough Huddersfield 1s early on Saturday morning. Slazenger Ladies 3's travelled to Epworth in an attempt to secure their second win of the season. Slazengers created some brilliant goal scoring opportunities, with Amy Brereton putting in a strong performance up front on her debut and being awarded with player of the match. First game of the season started really well. With a new line up for the 2s getting used to different positions and new faces. Slazengers had most of the attacking play and a goal from Naomi Frith from a short corner saw Slazengers play most the game winning 1-0. First weekend was a double header with another league game Sunday against a fresh Pudsey who hadn't had a Saturday game. Yorkshire champions Slazenger Boys U10 hockey team got there new season underway with some hard fought games at Weetwood on Sunday. The new look team with only Tommy Randle remaining from last seasons triumph opened with a 0-3 loss against Brigg.
