Slazenger thirds warmed up for their league opener against Adel thirds with a 6-1 reversal at the hands of Adel thirds on Saturday. The difference in standard was evident but Slazenger worked hard to stay in the game. Thomas Penistone had another fine match in goal, ably-assisted by sweeper Tony Sidwell. If chances were goals then Slazenger seconds should have had acricket score against Adel seconds, but in the end it was down to finishing and the hosts had the edge in this department to win 5-0.
