Slazenger U14's got off to a great start in Sunday's three-match outing, but results ran away with them following the opening fixture. Slazenger kicked off with an encouraging 2-0 victory over Almonbury. Gareth Ventom starred with the ball struck to his stick up front, while Richard Hutchins and Ian Hedges also impressed. Jubilant Slazenger Veterans knocked neighbours Wakefield out of the Yorkshire Veterans Cup following an entertaining 7-4 encounter that left Ian Gordon and Keith Whittle with hat-tricks and the crowd gasping for more.
