Slazenger Veterans went out of the Yorkshire Veterans Cup, losing 3-1 at Adel in an entertaining encounter. The more youthful Adel side opened strongly and the visitors had to dig deep to stay in contention with Ashley Smith working in defence and George Hutchins in commanding form in goal. Slazenger Seconds continued their climb up the Yorkshire League Division 4 table with a well-earned victory against table topping Halifax Seconds. In a scrappy first half, both sides cancelled each other out with spoiling tactics that prevented flowing hockey.
