Slazenger Thirds failed to take advantage of superior posession and went down 3-2 at Kings Cross. The visitors went a goal down after a poor start and although Ian Wiper levelled matters, Slazenger found themselves 3-1 down at half-time. Slazenger enjoyed a lot of possession and had numerous chances but were unable to break down Gateshead who snatched victory with a late goal. The Horbury outfit started strongly and slick link-up play between the midfield and the forwards put the North East side under constant pressure. Slazenger Seconds maintained their 1-- percent record thanks to a 1-0 win at home to Sheffield Hallam Fourths in a top-of-the-table clash. It was a far from convincing display from Slazenger who snatched victory through Andy Foreman. Slazengers firsts team briefly topped the North League Division 2 following their 2-1 win at York, but a 2-1 reversal at home to second-placed Newcastle University dropped them to second. It was a good weekend for Kevin Windler who scored all three Slazengers goals and took man of the match on Saturday.
