Slazenger fifths recovered from two goals down to a defeat York seconds 4-2. Jermane Cockerill pulled a goal back when he exchanged passes with Russell Killey from a short corner and then good hockey up the field created an equaliser for Ian Gordon to set up Chris Wood for the equaliser. Slaz came out fighting in the second half with Killey and Cockerill dominating in midfield. Slazenger seconds recorded their second league win on the season with a hard fought but scrappy win over Airedale firsts. The home side entered the game knowing that anything less than a win would not be good enough and that added pressure showed early on, with Airedale making much of the early running and home 'keeper Tom Peniston making some good saves. Slazenger U12 Boys look set for promotion to the top division for their next tournament after a successful round of matches in the Yorkshire Youth League at Leeds Metro University last Sunday. In the first match Chris Wood scored the only goal to defeat Harrogate 1-0, but in their second match, Slaz lost by a similar score to Sheffield. Slazenger’s seconds came into this game in confident mood after some good results in previous weeks but were soundly beaten by a very strong student team. Slazenger’s were 3-0 down inside the first eight minutes and were eventually beaten 6-1 although the score line didn't reflect the effort put in by the Slazenger’s players.
