Slazenger’s seconds came into this game in confident mood after some good results in previous weeks but were soundly beaten by a very strong student team.
Slazenger’s were 3-0 down inside the first eight minutes and were eventually beaten 6-1 although the score line didn’t reflect the effort put in by the Slazenger’s players.
The only high note of the game was a fantastic top corner drag flick by Rich Hutchins early in the second half. The visiting keeper was forced to make some great saves, notably from a Ben Graham strike with Tim Carr also posing a threat. Paul Johnson took the man of the match award for Slazenger’s, mainly due to his great form early on.
