Slazenger men’s 2nd team travelled to Leeds 5th looking to follow up last weeks result with another win, but were beaten 4-2. The score line was not a fair reflection of how close the match was. On a miserable afternoon Slazenger 4th's played some excellent, flowing hockey and won away from home 5-1 against local rivals Huddersfield. Making excellent use of the wings and keeping possession well Slazenger's got quickly into their stride and created several early chances without finding the back of the net. With 3 games played of the season, Slaz sit top of the table, after a fast paced, non-stop game of hockey. Slazenger's 1st team won 3-0 against Sheffield's Chapeltown's 2nd team. Though they were sluggish to start, a series of well crafted moves came together to feed Richard Tuddenham the ball to score the opener. Slazenger mens first team continued their winning start to the season with a well deserved 4-0 away victory at Brigg Mens seconds. Slazengers controlled the game throughout and truth being told, should have won by a greater margin but for some poor finishing and excellent goalkeeping. Slazenger 3rds started their league campaign on Saturday against Normanby Park and in swealtering conditions were unfortunate to only come away with a draw.
