Slazenger Men’s 2nd Team won at home 3-2 against a ten man Lincoln Roses 4th team. With Slaz beating Lincoln Roses 3rd team convincingly earlier in the season this looked like it was going to be an easy match for slaz, but it was quite the opposite. Slazenger mens first team got back to winning ways on Saturday, with a conclusive 7-3 win over Thirsk 1st's Slaz had a good start and moved the ball round well. However, against the run of play, it was Thirsk that opened up the scoring and went 2 0 up in short order. Under pressure, Slaz maintained composure and played on. Hi, Well, as quick as October came around, as has November (or should that be Movember?). The first social of the season is done and the league is well under way. Slaz had a few key players missing, but gelled very well together, playing better hockey than they have for weeks against a team 2 divisions higher in the semi-final of the cup. It was close all the way through and there was never more than one goal in it. Slaz never gave up and had great fluid play with the ball. Report: 13-11-2011 – Ladies 3rds (3) vs. (5) York University 2nd’s
The game was a very fast paced game with Slazenger's making some great opportunities to score. York had the first push back and Slazenger's were straight on the ball sure that York would be able to get round the team as easy as they thought. York University managed to break through a gap and scored the first goal of the game.
