In their second game of the season, Slazenger’s ladies 3rd team enjoyed a significant victory, preparing them selves for what we hope will be a highly successful season. It wasn’t long after the start that things started looking ominous for the home side. when around 7 minutes, Thirsk were awarded a penalty flick. Goalkeeper Lizzie Tunstall kept it cool as the ball was taken, making a simple yet effective save allowing the team to reset. It was newcomer Clair Dunstan who made the first … [Read more...] about Report: 29-09-2012 – Ladies 3rd’s (2) vs. (0) Thirsk 2nd’s

Report: 29-09-2012 – Ladies 1st’s (0) vs. (0) Doncaster 2nd’s
Slazenger's first league outing this season was against the only team to beat them en-route to promotion last year so there was always going to be a score to settle. Despite missing key squad players, Slaz started strongly and were unluckily not to go ahead as they managed to find the back of the net .....unfortunately after the whistle had been blown for a penalty corner. Doncaster sensed they had to up their game and made many strong attacks in what was definitely a close fought end to end … [Read more...] about Report: 29-09-2012 – Ladies 1st’s (0) vs. (0) Doncaster 2nd’s
Report: 29-09-2012 – Mens 5th’s (1) vs. (1) Worksop 3rd’s

The team played well but were beaten by the combination of experience and teamwork; signs of a well established team. The game started promisingly for Slazenger. Fast and consistent passing made short work of the Boston Spa midfield, and very quickly the home side were pressing Boston's defence. It was not long before a sequence of fast passes set up Ian Hedges to take it past the last … [Read more...] about Report: 29-09-2012 – Mens 4th’s (1) vs. (3) Boston Spa 4th’s
Report: 29-09-2012 – Mens 3rd’s (7) vs. (0) Brigg 4th’s
Slaz 3's maintained the momentum which had begun with last weeks 3-0 win at L.A. Carnegie, with an incredible 7-0 demolition of Brigg 4th's. The team were again without Captain Andy Fisher, still recovering with a broken hand, along with several other key players. Last season, Slaz 3's and Brigg 4's had been locked in a close promotion fight, so it was anticipated to be a tough encounter. However, those who made the trip out to the most easterly fixture this season, certainly made it count. … [Read more...] about Report: 29-09-2012 – Mens 3rd’s (7) vs. (0) Brigg 4th’s
