Slazenger continued their great start to the season with their first home victory helped by the return of 5 key players. This time Slaz started strongly and after 14 minutes hard work were rewarded by their first goal as Katie Browne calmly slotted the ball through the legs of the Doncaster keeper. Slazengers mens 2nd team kicked off their league campaign with a 1-1 draw at home to Leeds 5th's but in reality will be disappointed not to take all three points. Due to a variety of reasons, Slazengers were without a number of regular players but started the game at a fast tempo and were immediately on top of the opposition going close on a number of occasions. Slazenger Mens 3's first league fixture of the season was a sobering experience away against a skilful and energetic Brigg team. The Horbury team had shown good form during pre-season and had strong expectations for a decent performance. Slazenger were not looking forward to their first League outing against last season's runners up given a severely depleted squad due to illness, holidays and other commitments.
