Slazenger's Boys U10's had a successful Sunday. The "A" team were promoted into the top Division 1, the first time in several years. The "B" team, made mostly of younger players (some only 6 years old!) had a great competition, but struggled to score! Slazenger 0 - 0 Ben Rhydding A The boys enjoyed most of the attacking play and were unlucky not to have scored on several occassions. What was most encouraging is that the Ben Rhydding attack never really presented any danger with keeper Ralph Toon seeing very little action. After defeat in their first league game Slaz 3s were hungry for a win and came away from Pickering with an impressive 7-3 win. The ladies started strong with player of the match Frankie Tyrrell in her new central role holding and distributing well and pushing forward to take Slaz into the lead in the 5th minute. Hoping to continue with the flying start to the season the team came out strong and were straight on the attack. Playing a brilliant passing game by half time the score was 4-0 to slazengers with goals from Natasha Wiper, Alex Gilbert, Stacey Drake and a flick from Sue Hope after a shot stopped on the line from Hannah Field. To say Slazenger had a 'bad day at the office' was an understatement this week. Following last week's defeat at Hull Slaz were hopeful that they could gain a result, indeed Halifax were going into this game on the back of two defeats.
