Slazenger Boys U10's continued their unbeaten start to the Yorkshire Youth Hockey Association's six-a-side competition with four more wins from games played at Outwood Grange College on Sunday. Slazenger 2nds gained them their first win of the season - a 7-5 success at derby foes Wakefield 3rd's. Eddie Taylor drilled in the opener for Slazenger. Wakefield replied but four-star Tim Carr was on hand to put away Slazenger's second. Slazenger U10s Girls A ended the year on a high with a fantastic display of hockey in the final tournament of the year. A 1-1 draw with Ben Rhydding was followed by a superb 5-1 victory over Doncaster thanks to goals from Rebecca Jessop, Ellie Spruce and Lucy Kent. Bennett's hat-trick boost for Slazenger JAMES Bennett's trio of goals helped Slazenger U12s Boys to a respectable finish in a recent tournament in Leeds. Slazenger A had been promoted to pitch C to compete in the higher league and they got off to a flier with a single goal victory over Thirsk. A strong Slazenger U10 Boys line-up blitzed all-comers to claim a morale-boosting quartet of wins in the latest Yorkshire Youth Hockey League series of tournament fixtures at York’s Huntington School.
