The 3rd tournament of the season was held last weekend and saw the girls putting in some great performances to finish top of their league. They were beaten only by Thirsk in a very close match with a final score of 3:2, but in all their other games came out on top. They will now progress to league D, and hopefully with a higher standard of opposition we will see them up their game even further. Slazenger Men's 5's took on local rivals Wakefield in a friendly and after a tight, evenly contested 1st half no one would have been able to accurately guess the final score at the half-time interval, when the match was tied at 0-0. Both teams worked hard and had opportunities to dominate but just a lack of control at important moments or poor decision making meant that there were few meaningful attacks for either side. Report: 24-11-2012 – Mens 4th’s (1) vs. (3) Wakefield 6th’s
Slazenger had a tough encounter with Wakefield, however based on previous performances made their visitors look a lot better than they should. The team worked well in the early stages, with James Walker netting for the home team. However, Wakefield worked their way back into the game, equalising before the break. Report: 18-03-2012 – Girls U10′s Last Tournament of the Season
Having been the reason to cancel the last 3 of the girls tournaments, the weather more than made up for itself adding to the enjoyment of what proved to be a very successful and enjoyable mornings hockey. Slazengers were able to once again field two teams, the A team playing in the "C" league (being made up of the year 5 girls), and the B team playing in the "D" league (being made up of girls years 2 - 4). Report: 11-03-2012 – Boys U10’s Tournament
Sunshine, Smiles, Sticks and Goals were the order of the day for the last tournament of the season with Slazengers fielding almost a full compliment of all thier U10 boys with just Will Fealy having to pull out due to illness at the last minute.
