Horbury outfit in win hat-trick SLAZENGER U16 Girls netted 17 goals and conceeded none as they swept to three wins at the Yorkshire League Hockey tournament played at Harrogate. Jes Rudge scored the only goal in the openeing game, opening their account with a 1-0 win over Thirsk. James Bennett netted the winner for Slazenger Boys U12's as they defeated Brigg in the final of their tournament at Pocklington. Isaac Fisher netter the winner in their clash with Hull, while a brace from Joseph Shaw saw them run out 2-0 winners against Thirsk and Jenson Brook gave them a share of the spoils in their clash with Leeds. Slazenger played some good passing hockey and showed signs they were starting to gel as they competed in their third tournament of the season in Harrogate. Despite losing the opening game 3-0 against Rotherham, Slaz hit back with a battling 1-1 draw against Thirsk , thanks to a Jake Barras goal. Bennett's hat-trick boost for Slazenger JAMES Bennett's trio of goals helped Slazenger U12s Boys to a respectable finish in a recent tournament in Leeds. Slazenger A had been promoted to pitch C to compete in the higher league and they got off to a flier with a single goal victory over Thirsk.
