Slazengers mens 2nd team had a double header last weekend, entertaining Sheffield Hallams Mens 5's on Saturday before travelling to York University mens 2's on Sunday. Saturdays game saw Slazengers go down 5-2 to an excellent Sheffield Hallam side. A very determined and disciplined team performance saw Slazengers Development team beat a skilful and well organised Sheffield Hallam Development team. Great teamwork was evident throughout and saw Sam Haigh and Josh Swallow score the two goals after good Slazenger build up play. After only playing the university of Leeds 2 weeks ago and losing 5-2 we were in for a tough game. Slazengers started well with plenty of chances and the majority of play. No goals had come by half time. After half time Slazengers came back even stronger and managed to get 2 goals in quick succession. The Yvonne Horner Shield cup game meant a Sunday push back at home against leeds 3's for Slazengers 3s in a game that saw end to end action throughout. Despite leeds flying high in the league above slazenger 3s, the difference was hardly noticeable and good defending by both teams resulted in a goalless first half. Slazengers ladies thirds followed up their first home win of the season with a first away win of the season in a toughly fought match against Bradford University. The first half ended goaless despite slazengers having the majority of the possession.
