The Yvonne Horner Shield cup game meant a Sunday push back at home against leeds 3’s for Slazengers 3s in a game that saw end to end action throughout.
Despite leeds flying high in the league above slazenger 3s, the difference was hardly noticeable and good defending by both teams resulted in a goalless first half. The second half began with as much of the same determination and quick play as the first. The breakthrough eventually came for Slazengers with a quick ball coming in from the left across the penalty spot to meet with the reverse stick of Hannah Chilton who hit the back board for the second time this season.
Leeds managed to pull one back but Slazengers took the lead again with a well executed short corner by Heather Bates. The game looked like it was going to be Slazengers for the taking but 3 minutes from time leeds pulled even again, levelling the score at 2-2.
The final whistle went and a penalty shoot out determined the final result with Leeds taking the game by 4 flicks to 2.
