Slazenger 3rd's took a break from the regular league matches to open their account in the Yorkshire Mens "E" Cup. Slaz was looking for a good start after a stuttering beginning to the season, racing out at the start and instantly putting Harrogate under pressure. Slazenger men’s 2nd team travelled to Leeds 5th looking to follow up last weeks result with another win, but were beaten 4-2. The score line was not a fair reflection of how close the match was. From the start it was end-to-end hockey with both teams creating chances but Leeds took the lead through a well-worked team goal. It was not long however before slaz equalised. On a miserable afternoon Slazenger 4th's played some excellent, flowing hockey and won away from home 5-1 against local rivals Huddersfield. Making excellent use of the wings and keeping possession well Slazenger's got quickly into their stride and created several early chances without finding the back of the net. With 3 games played of the season, Slaz sit top of the table, after a fast paced, non-stop game of hockey. Slazenger's 1st team won 3-0 against Sheffield's Chapeltown's 2nd team. Though they were sluggish to start, a series of well crafted moves came together to feed Richard Tuddenham the ball to score the opener.
