In the second game of the weekend, Slazengers 4th's faced off against Hull University 3rd's. Slazengers started with simple play, short quick passes and put great pressure on Hulls defence. Slaz mens 3's had no regular league fixture on Saturday, so played their Sunday cup fixture instead. Their opposition, Brigg 4's had been defeated in the league 7-0 already, so Slaz were hoping to equal their previous result. Brigg's recently laid pitch delivered quick ball movement, however, it also led to the ball bouncing and bobbling, making for fast, if slightly unpredictable behaviour. Slaz were off to a poor start with Normanby Park pressuring the defence and causing two early mistakes leaving slaz trailing by 2 goals to nill. But slaz knew they were well in the game still getting a hold of their possession and distributing the ball well. Slaz travelled to Doncaster with a weakened side; only 8 of the regular 16 deep squad being available, and only 11 man squad; no subs. However, the team were looking to maintain the early season momentum, and stay at the top of the table. The team began quickly. Slazenger 3rd team played their first home league fixture of the season and continued the fine form they have exhibited on their recent travels with a resounding 10-1 victory against Chapeltown 4's.
